Anthony Lovato - Kewa

Anthony Lovato was born in 1958 to preeminent jeweler Mary Coriz Lovato and Sedelio F. Lovato, a metalworker who did both casting and inlay work. His grandfather, Santiago Leo Coriz, was skilled in tufa casting. Anthony is fifth generation from Kewa Pueblo (previously knowns as Santa Domingo Pueblo) just outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Known for his outstanding jewelry and metalwork formed by tufa-casting, Anthony combines traditional and contemporary styles. His creations reflect the Lovato family’s long historical legacy as jewelers and the ancient Kewa religious heritage. His mother raised Anthony along with her four other sons, to become accomplished silversmiths. He also learned from his father and masterful grandfather. The recipient of numerous awards, Anthony makes pendants, bracelets, and necklaces. Anthony focuses on high quality in each piece and strives to make it “perfect and right” the first time.
